End of the Day

Red sun sinking in bloodied sky
Black horsed dark rider as one strained
Astride rolling drumlin hill
Watch west toward sacred royal home
Snuggled 'tween soft rolling mounds
Hugging slopes of deep green velvet grass
Once great house of elder gods
Beams blaze a smoking red pyre
Fire burning red branch brightly
Crimson orange rivals the dying embers
Sky filled with warm wispy clouds
Round earthly sun they worship on
Hymns long forgotten raised higher
Fire groping stretching to touch the sky
Reaching for slowly sinking brother
Inspired bards watch on in quiet platitude
As great sun slowly sinks

Neptunes flight

Dismal dark day
Pattering and pouring
Through gullies and gutters
Streaming icy chill
Gushing past my feet
Flooded roads clogging cars
Stalling engines
In dark deep puddles
The machines drown

Eyes strain upwards towards sky
Viewing Neptune from northerly realm
Striding 'cross soaked sodden land
With cold wet shoulder shudders
Swaying his watery cloak earthward
As rivers flood full of praise
And lowlands bubble up in lakes
On such great puddles and streams
He darkly dances in thoughtful mood

Across pockmarked mirrored aspect
As traversing the troposhere
Dark Neptune sprays down
All his life-giving furious feelings
Upon all and sundry, saint and sinner
Till his rage drags him onward
And sol returns a welcome warmth
While a stillness suddenly settles
Upon rain soaked land
